Christ Church Vision: Bringing Jesus into the heart of the Community

Dear Friends

The lesson that we can learn from the parable in today’s Gospel reading relates to God’s incredible patience with us. This story is really a story about God. We find that the landowner had invested a lot in the vineyard. The verbs in verse 33 tell us that he planted, set, dug, built, let and went. These strong verbs point to the active, caring, loving attitude of the landowner toward his vineyard. Then he went away (some texts say he went away to a different country) entrusting the responsibility to the tenants. He trusted us to till, cultivate, and harvest as a father would trust and give responsibility to his children. He expected his vineyard to produce lots of fruit. May we have grace to bear much fruit and glorify our Heavenly Father’s name. Amen
Every day, there is Morning Prayer 9am and Evening Prayer 7.30pm. Additionally, Ecumenical prayers 8pm on Thursdays and 8.00 am on Fridays. You are welcome to join us in the vicarage garden / church hall with social distancing. COLLECT for the 17th Sunday after Trinity (4.10.2020)

Almighty God,
you have made us for yourself,
and our hearts are restless till they find
their rest in you:
pour your love into our hearts and draw us
to yourself, and so bring us at last to your heavenly city
where we shall see you face to face;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord
who is alive and reigns with you,
In the unity of the Holy Spirit,
One God now and forever. AMEN
