Christ Church Vision: Bringing Jesus into the heart of the Community
Today the Gospel reading is on talents. The master lends his three servants money before going away on a long journey. Talent could mean “skill” or “ability” or “interest”. God has gifted everyone, it is for us to use our God given talents for His glory.
The parable says that one day Christ is coming back to ask what we did with the talent that was entrusted to us. Did we bury it, or use it to touch peoples’ lives? The challenge to us, is to recognise the mistake of the third servant and make sure that we are not hiding behind politeness, unwillingness or even fear to act. May we all have grace to use what has been given to us and glorify our Father in heaven. Amen.
May we continue to pray for each other and keep that sense of togetherness this lockdown – please see the daily prayers for 6pm each day. Additionally each day we have Morning Prayer at 9am and Evening Prayer 7.30pm in the vicarage household. ZOOM Ecumenical prayers are at 7.30pm on Thursdays and 8.15 am on Fridays. Please join us by Zoom if you are able to.
We continue to hold in our prayer all families in need, – particularly, Mitford and Bev’s sister Patricia, that the Lord will minister His love and healing. We pray too for all those who mourn the loss of loved ones. Next week we celebrate the feast of Christ the King, sadly we cannot have our bring and share feast, perhaps there maybe feasting in your own households? There will be opportunity again to come and pray in church from 3 – 7pmon Sundays.

Whose blessed Son was revealed
To destroy the works of the devil
And to make us the children of God
And heirs of eternal life:
Grant that we, having this hope,
May purify ourselves even as he is pure;
That when He shall appear in power and in great glory
We may be made like Him
In His eternal and glorious kingdom;
Where He is alive and reigns with you,
In the unity of the Holy Spirit,
One God now and forever. Amen
