Christ Church Vision: Bringing Jesus into the heart of the Community
Prayer for our homes:
Abba Father visit, this home with the gladness of your presence. Bless all who live or visit here with the gift of your love and protection; and grant that we may manifest your love to each other and to all whose lives we touch. May we grow in grace and in the knowledge and love of you; guide, comfort, and strengthen us in peace, through Jesus Christ our Lord, now and forever. Amen
In a time of great challenge for the Church let us continue to meditate on our true source of hope – Jesus Christ who died and rose again. We have all the resources of heaven available to us: everything that God has given to Christ he has given to us, because we are his own children. This is the truth that we need to live by day by day.
In the Gospel reading today the first thing v 41 – Andrew said to his brother Simon is ‘come and see,’ then Philip says to his friend Nathaniel ‘come and see.’ What Andrew and Philip are saying is ‘come and see,’ who I have met – He is the greatest person in the world! Could He be the Messiah? This morning we too have been invited to ‘come and see Jesus.’
For Mother Teresa, hearing the call of Jesus to ‘come and see’ meant showing Christian love to the thousands dying in the streets of Calcutta. Telling them they were not forgotten and that they were children of God. Mother Teresa said that “the lost needed to be in touch with people for in people they will find God.” We too wherever we are need to invite people to come and see our Lord Jesus working in and among us.

We continue to hold in our prayer all families in need, – particularly, Mitford, Bev’s sister Patricia and also Dave, that the Lord will minister His love and healing. We pray too for all those who mourn the loss of loved ones.
The on-line services will continue in this lockdown as we pray for each other and keep that sense of togetherness. Each day we have Morning Prayer at 9am and Evening Prayer 7.30pm; ecumenical prayers are at 7.30pm on Thursdays and 8.15 am on Fridays now by zoom, since the church is closed.
