Christ Church Vision: Bringing Jesus into the heart of the Community

Message from your Parish Priest
Today’s Gospel reading is about the coming glory of God. We are praying for a spiritual breakthrough during this challenging time, for the fullness of God to come and fill this community! As we pray and declare that God’s mercy endures forever, we will experience an overflow of His glory. God desires us to be saturated with His love and to be overflowing with joy. Our prayer is that wells of creativity will be opened, and opportunity to build lives of destiny and purpose in the midst of the darkness around us.
In a time of great challenge for the Church let us continue to meditate on our true source of hope – Jesus Christ who died and rose again. We have all the resources of heaven available to us: everything that God has given to Christ he has given to us, because we are his own children. This is the truth that we need to live by day by day.
We continue to hold in our prayer all families in need, – particularly, Mitford, Bev’s sister Patricia and also Dave, that the Lord will minister His love and healing. We pray too for all those who mourn the loss of loved ones.
The on-line services will continue in this lockdown as we pray for each other and keep that sense of togetherness. Each day we have Morning Prayer at 9am and Evening Prayer 7.30pm; ecumenical prayers are at 7.30pm on Thursdays and 8.15 am on Fridays now by zoom, since the church is closed.

18 – 25 January ‘Week of Prayer for Christian Unity:
Jesus calls us to abide in Him, as branches of the true Vine. He calls us to bear the fruit of God’s healing and reconciling love. He calls us to draw closer to God and one another as we offer this love to the World. As we move closer to God, so we draw closer to one another. And the closer we come to one another, the closer we come to God. Amen

Have a prayerful week
