Christ Church Vision: Bringing Jesus into the heart of the Community
We’ve reached the second week of Lent, our thoughtful time in the desert. Let’s use the coming week to take notice when the Holy Spirit nudges us and go along with what He suggests, trying to see Jesus in everyone we have contact with. Let’s try and humble ourselves before God and follow Him.
The reading from Isaiah speaks of the figure of the ‘Servant’ in complete loving obedience to God. His hearers would understand that here is someone of perfect wisdom and in harmony with God; humble and courageous enough to do what God requires, whatever the personal cost.
God is a loving parent to all of us. We can trust God completely, He will never let us down, this is so comforting, especially in these challenging days.
Our Lent conversations for 2021 are based on ’ Bishop Sarah Mullally book ROOTED in LOVE ‘Lent reflections on life in Christ. We meet again this Saturday 6th March at 12 noon. This is also a time for us to get together and talk about the things that are on our minds. Please Join Zoom Lent Study
Meeting ID: 577 141 6401
Please keep Christ Church family in your prayers that they know God’s healing touch especially Bev’s Sister Patricia, her cousin Jean & Jean’s husband Richard, also Pearl’s husband Mitford, Rose and Pauline’s dad Stephen. We pray for those who are mourning the loss of loved ones at this difficult time, especially Bev’s family.
The on-line services will continue. Please pray for each other and keep that sense of togetherness. Each day we have Morning Prayer at 9am and Evening Prayer 7.30pm; ecumenical prayers are at 7.30pm on Thursdays and 8.15 am on Fridays now by zoom.
