Christ Church Vision: Bringing Jesus into the heart of the Community
Message from your Parish Priest

We remember all those who mourn loved ones especially our sister Dainey (her son Anthony who has passed away) and our sister Pauline (mourning the loss of her father ). We have lit a candle in church and we pray ‘Grant eternal rest O Lord and let light perpetual shine upon him. May he rest in peace.’ The church is open for prayers. Please also keep in your prayers Bev’s Sister Patricia, her cousin Jean & Jean’s husband Richard, also Pearl’s husband Mitford, Edna and Rose that they may all know God’s healing touch. In our Gospel reading Jesus is ‘the grain that falls to the ground and dies.’ Jesus is the one who will be glorified by being put to death. ‘Jesus is the life giver’ With Jesus every day is a brand new day. The Son of God walked the path of faith and obedience and we are asked to imitate Jesus’ self- giving love in own lives.
We are the ‘grains’ made in Jesus likeness who are to give that costly, obedient and self-dying service. Only when do this, can we multiply and become children of light. The cross is the secret of fruitfulness and of effective mission. Our Father God does not want us to be moulded by the patterns of this world, but to be grains of wheat who make a difference in the world.
We continue to have the Stations of the Cross on Friday 7.30pm at Christ church also on-line those who are shielding. The Lent conversation on Saturday 12:00 noon based on ’ Bishop Sarah Mullally book ROOTED in LOVE ‘Lent reflections on life in Christ. For those who wish to Join us by Zoom the link below. A reminder that each day we have Morning Prayer at 9am and Evening Prayer 7.30pm; ecumenical prayers are at 7.30pm on Thursdays and 8 am on Fridays. During the pandemic we have seen quite a drop in ‘Giving.’ That is understandable as people have not been able to get to church. Nevertheless, the bills keep coming in and you may wish to bring your offerings to church or pay on-line, here are the details:
Account Name: Christ Church, West Green with St Peter
Sort code: 089299
Account Number: 65156465

We very much appreciate this. I’m not asking you to give more than you can afford. But as St Paul says ‘God loves a cheerful giver.
Have a Blessed week
